Power of the Spirit in Philippi #1

In this message from Acts 16, Pastor Kit walks us through the quiet, ordinary beginning of a church that would one day become one of the most joyful and generous in the New Testament. He reminds us that God builds His kingdom through people — people someone poured into, people someone prayed for, people someone showed up for — and He now calls us to be those people for others.

Through the story of Lydia, we see how the Holy Spirit goes ahead of us, preparing hearts, opening minds, and meeting people where they already are. Lydia may have been successful and respected, but what truly marks her story is how she listened, responded, took the next step, and immediately used her gifts for God’s mission. Her obedience affected her whole household — and eventually helped establish a church that would bless generations.

This message encourages us to see our own lives the same way: every conversation, every gift, every act of faithfulness can ripple further than we realize. God is writing a bigger story than we can see in the moment, and He invites us to trust Him, step in, and play our part — right here, right now.
