A Fight Worth Fighting #2

In this message from Acts 15, Pastor Kit challenges us to consider what is truly worth fighting for. Using Paul and Barnabas’ firm response to false teaching in the early church, the sermon reminds us that some battles matter — especially when the truth of the gospel is at stake.

At the center of the conflict is salvation itself. The early church faced pressure to add requirements to faith, but Paul stands his ground, making it clear that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. Anything added to that message distorts the gospel and burdens people rather than freeing them.

The sermon also brings practical wisdom for today, helping us discern between primary issues worth defending, secondary issues that may shape where we worship, and personal convictions that should not divide the church. We’re reminded that our witness matters, and the fights we choose can either strengthen or weaken how others see Jesus.

Ultimately, this message calls believers to stand firmly for truth, walk humbly with others, and live in a way that reflects the grace we ourselves have received.
