Continuing the Mission

In this message from Acts 14, we’re reminded that the mission of the church doesn’t stop when life gets interrupted. As Paul and Barnabas continue their ministry, the sermon reflects on how easily we “press pause” on things we intend to return to—but how the gospel mission is never meant to be paused.

The message walks through the growth of the early church, showing how God faithfully worked through ordinary people, persistent obedience, and the power of the Holy Spirit. From Jerusalem to the ends of the known world, the church moved forward despite opposition, hardship, and uncertainty.

Paul’s ministry in Lystra highlights a powerful truth: faithfulness matters even when the place seems insignificant or the impact feels unseen. Whether facing rejection, confusion, or persecution, Paul continues to proclaim the gospel, trusting God with the results.

The sermon ultimately calls us to remember our purpose, embrace the mission God has given us, and remain faithful wherever He has placed us—knowing that God uses obedience in ways we may never fully see.
